2023 Winners Announced ~ “Public Vote”

“Celebrating Excellence Across Tamaki Makaurau: NESW and Central Auckland Winners announced with unprecedented Public Choice vote”

The Lewisham Foundation is delighted to announce the exceptional category winners of the 2023 Lewisham Awards from the areas North, South, East, West and Central Auckland. The awards, held annually, honour those establishments that have made significant contributions to Auckland’s vibrant and diverse hospitality scene, paying special attention to those  making waves outside the central city as well as within.

For the first time in Lewisham Award’s history, the “Outstanding Local Establishment” categories were opened up to a public “People’s Choice” vote. Customers were able to cast their votes for their preferred establishment from a list of four finalists in each category. This democratic process led to an extraordinary response from the public, with over 9,000 people actively participating in the Auckland People’s Choice vote, affirming the vibrancy and passion of Auckland’s food and beverage patrons.

The Southern Hospitality Outstanding Local Establishment – North award was won by the Fantail & Turtle, a shining beacon of hospitality in the northern suburbs, recognised for its commitment to creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere alongside offering a fine selection of food and beverages.

The DB Breweries Outstanding Local Establishment – South was awarded to Hallertau Clevedon, celebrated for its exceptional brewing expertise and hospitality in the south of Auckland, and offering a unique dining and drinking experience in the region.

The Kohi Beach Eatery, with its unbeatable location and delicious menu, won the OneMusic Outstanding Local Establishment – East award. Their commitment to providing an exceptional gastronomical experience sets a new standard for hospitality in the eastern suburbs.

Et Tu Bistro received the Coca Cola Europacific Partners Outstanding Local Establishment – West award. The restaurant, located in the western suburbs, has been recognised for its commitment to a delightful dining experience that beautifully complements the cultural richness of the region.
In the heart of Auckland, Prego was honoured with the Gilmours Outstanding Local Establishment – Central award, recognising its iconic status and continued excellence in hospitality in Auckland’s Central Business District.

The winners in the Outstanding Local categories are:
